Erindale Mississauga Neighbourhood Real Estate
In May 1822, Thomas Racey, a land speculator, bought a block of land along the Credit River hoping to build a small town. Not having enough money to build the town he sold part of his land to settlers who built a post office, saw mills and the townships first Anglican curch. Initially the name chosen for the town was Toronto. The name was not officially accepted and over time became known as Springfield which it held until 1890. The community was renamed Erindale after the Estate name of Rev James McGrath; which was named after his homeland. Ireland. McGrath was the minister of St Peters church which still stands today and recently celebrated its 170th anniversary.
The 450 acre community of Erindale Woodlands was developed in the 1950s by an immigrant, Elia Mariano who formed Dell Holdings after learning construction skills from his father. Erindale Woodlands was considered as one of the the country's first successful satellite communities. The project was considered risky back then because of its size and rural location.
The University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) is a satellite campus of the University of Toronto. In 1998, Erindale assumed the name of University of Toronto Mississauga. Recently UTM celebrated its 40th anniversary which was capped off with the grand opening of the Hazel McCallion Academeic Learning Center, "Hurrican Hazel" herself was also in attendance.

The Erindale district in itself is a fully developed area consisting of mature and stable neighbourhoods. What is most remarkable about Erindale (Credit) Woodlands is the community has kept the prices of Real Estate down making it affordable for middle and upper middle class families. .
